Shibori Ikat Workshop January 28, 29, and 31, 2025

$175.00

Live zoom workshop 10:00am -4pm EST

Learn a little about both weavings from my latest designs! Day one focuses on ikat bindings using multiple 4.5 yard plant-based fiber warps (Tencel/cotton). If time permits, wind some mini-skeins to bind. Day 2 is a hands-on instruction with fiber reactive dyes and ice dyeing your ikat warps and skeins. Be prepared to test your color samples on paper towels or fabric scraps. Partcipants should dress their looms prior to Day 3. Day 3 will be a weaving day using Woven Shibori techniques to create a sample on a 4 shaft loom. You will learn how to add surface design using secondary painting with fiber reactive dyes and/or stainless steel silk weft. Live instruction with time for Questions and Answers. Workshop will be recorded and participants have brief access (2 weeks) to this course. Additional mini-videos in Dropbox allow participants to go back for an extended period to review processes (ie. how to tie an ikat wrap).

Materials Lists will be provided 24 hours after registration.
