Stairstep 8 Shaft Deflected Doubleweave Zoom Workshop March 1, 2024
10 am - 4 pm EST Set up your loom for my latest 8 Shaft deflected doubleweave draft mixing two fibers and five warplets prior to the workshop! Draft instructions will direct you to use a variety of warm and cool colors using painted or ice dyed warps. Color, value, and mixing fibers will be reviewed in morning powerpoint to show two different approaches that effect the resulting deflected doubleweave cloth pattern.
Demonstration of shuttle manipulation using one shuttle follows morning presentation Learn how to create a stairstep using two shuttles and weft yarns of different values. Weave two samples with guided feedback and be willing to share photos of the samples at the end of the zoom!
Weavers should be able to comfortably read a draft, set up their own loom (front to back recommended), and weave with two shuttles!
