Gravity Ice Dye Workshop Sat May 18, 2024
10:00am-3:00 pm EST - A live zoom hands-on workshop! The workshop begins with powerpoint and discussion on setting up a gravity ice dye station using a deep tub/basin/sink and a rack to fit over your basin. Four scenarios are shown including an ikat warp. Following lecture, discussion, demonstration, participants will set up to ice dye 4.5 yard of pre-wound rayon/tencel and/or cotton warp(s) using fiber reactive dyes/soda ash with guided support. Learn how to use the muck the day after to dye an additional warp or mini-skeins.
Additional topics discussed include information from my new published ice dyeing workshop monograph, colors, dye intensities, samples, and applications to weaving.
