FRESH Exhibit

The Orchard Gallery of Fine Arts will open their Fresh Exhibit on March 2, 2021. A previous call went out to juried members and juried artists to submit work never shown in a gallery or exhibit previously. I have been working on FRESH feltings and Handwovens.

The weaving draft created to weave the scarf above was a motif from a smaller weaving. I enlarged and repeated the block threading/treadling to create a larger version mixing several fibers. The extensive notes are available to weavers as NatalieWoven Notes in my shop.

I felted several scenes from my surroundings at Marsh Lake. These begin as wetfelts, then are needlefelted to add finer detail, machine-stitched and then a touch of hand embroidery to add additional texture. I ended up with six works to take to the framers. In the last one, I have added bouillon knots.
